IT is believed Newcastle coach, Hughton, is looking for a striker to add to his squad before the transfer window closes and feels that Nigeria international, Victor Anichebe could be the ideal player to score the goals and keep Newcastle in the Premier League.
Anichebe only has twelve months left on his current contract at Goodison Park and the Merseyside club could listen to offers of around £1.5 million which is inside Hughton’s current budget.
The striker has been at Everton for seven years but has seen Louis Saha and new signing, Jermaine Beckford pull ahead of him in the pecking order and is believed to want first team football.
