NIGERIA has moved up one place to the 27th position in the latest FIFA women's world rankings released on Friday.
The United States remains number one in the world, followed by Germany and Brazil who occupy the 3rd and 4th position. As the top nine teams maintained the positions they held in the last rankings, Denmark moved up one spot to the 10th, as China fell four spots to its lowest-ever ranking at 14th.
Australia made one of the biggest jumps, climbing three spots into a tie with Italy for 11th while Canada dropped two spots to 13th.
However, Nigeria maintained its position as number one in Africa, followed by Ghana, South Africa, Algeria and Equitorial Guinea, who occupied the 43rd, 57th, 66th and 70th position respectively on the rankings.
