After naming his 23-man list for the World Cup in South Africa, Super Eagles coach, Lars Lagerback has revealed his reason for keeping faith with Chelsea midfielder, John Mikel Obi.
Lagerback submitted in an interview with brilafm.net that Mikel is almost ready following rehabilitation and could have even played against Colombia on Sunday but had to be rested so as to avoid any unnecessary setback.
“We could have played Mikel against Colombia but we had to watch him a little more. He has been training with the team and doing all the activities together.
“He is shaping up and we may see him against North Korea,” Lagerback hinted.
