Lagerback hints at changes

Lars Lagerback has suggested that there may be changes in the Nigeria team from the one that faced Argentina in the opening game.

Nigeria face Greece next after their opening day loss to Argentina, and Largeback says that the door is open to every player, with one training session to go.

"We have still one training session to go. I don’t shut the door on any player, so it could still be possible," Lagerback said after Nigeria's training session on Tuesday.

The Super Eagles need a win against the Greeks to keep their World Cup campaign alive and the Swede says he expects a different approach from the Argentina game.

"It's two different teams so you can play a little different when you come to the Greek team. The Argentina game was a good team performance and there were a lot of positive things.

"Of course it is never good to lose, but you also have to see what the players did. We are starting again, and concentrating on the Greece match because they play in a different way and different style.

Lagerback said the team had reacted positively to defeat and refused to let their heads drop.

"I must say the players have been very professional, very good attitude. It’s very easy being coach of the Super Eagles despite the fact we lost the first game.

"What we just need to do is stay focused and keep the spirit going."

The Nigerians fly out of Richards Bay on Wednesday for Bloemfontein.
